The children in Grades 1-5 meet in small groups in the home of a catechist twenty times a year. This experience gives them the opportunity to know and trust one caring adult and to bond comfortably with one small portion of the entire parish community. In this atmosphere of intimacy, the catechist and the children can easily and honestly share their faith in Jesus. Registration is held in May.
The program is based on the Brown-Roa series, Walking by Faith and each grade level text is made up of the following seven units:
Creation, God, Jesus Christ,The Church, Christian Morality, The Sacraments, and Salvation History
In addition to the 20 sessions in the home of the catechist, there are four intergenerational events held at church called WINGS. This innovative approach to faith formation enables the parish to become a community of learners by creating lifelong faith formation that is centered in the events of church life, embracing all ages and generations, through parish preparation programs and most importantly, through participation in church life. Registration for WINGS events are held throughout the year. Learn more about WINGS.
