Title: Director of Music

 The Faith Community of St. Raphael, (www.st-raphael.com) a large (3800 families) vibrant and spirit-filled Roman Catholic parish in the western suburbs of Chicago, seeks a full time Director of Music. The successful applicant is an energetic, faith-filled pastoral musician with excellent organ/piano/keyboard skills (Berghaus 60 rank 3 man pipe organ completed in 2005 & Schimmel grand piano), choral directing proficiency and a knowledge of and appreciation for diverse styles of liturgical music. Degree in music, music performance or equivalent. Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, computer and organizational skills, with great attention to detail are also required. Ability to plan, coordinate and facilitate liturgical events with full time liturgist, part time music assistant, parish staff and volunteers. Responsibilities include rehearsing and directing cantors, adult, youth and hand-bell choirs (5 oct hand-bells, 3 oct choir chimes), providing music for 5 weekend liturgies (accompanying at least 3 weekend liturgies), holydays, sacramental celebrations, weekly school masses, weddings, funerals and parish events. Full-time position with benefits. Salary competitive with AGO and diocesan considerations, commensurate with education and experience. Three current professional references required.

Title: Director of Liturgy

The Faith Community of St. Raphael, a large (3800 families) vibrant and spirit-filled Roman Catholic parish in the western suburbs of Chicago, seeks a full time Director of Liturgy.

This leader works collaboratively with the pastor, parochial vicar, and staff to organize, develop and direct the liturgical life of the parish community by coordinating and providing quality liturgical experiences which celebrate and strengthen the parish community’s journey of faith. A working knowledge of, and experience with, Roman Catholic liturgy is required, along with excellent communication, collaborative, leadership, and organizational skills, with great attention to detail. Computer skills are also required. The successful candidate will have a degree or certification in liturgy, theology or a related field and previous successful experience planning liturgies in the Roman Catholic Church. Responsibilities and Qualifications: St. Raphael Parish and School seek a Director of Development to create and implement a parish and school development plan which includes stewardship, recruitment and endowment. Must have computer database skills, be able to write publications and speak knowledgably, articulately and enthusiastically about all aspects of development. Requirements would include a bachelor’s degree and experience with working with volunteers and multiple organizations. Preferred experiences include work with major gifts, comprehensive campaigns, planned and deferred giving, corporate and foundation solicitation and event planning. Essential is the ability to balance multiple priorities and work with parish and school administration. The successful candidate will be a high energy person of poise and dedicated to the mission of the parish. This is a full time position with benefits.
