BEGINNING JULY 1, 2008 OUR PARISH WILL ENTER A YEAR
WHEN WE WILL CONCENTRATE OUR EFFORTS ON WELCOMING ALL,
AS WE PAY CLOSER ATTENTION TO THE WELCOMING GOAL
OF OUR PARISH VISION STATEMENT.
AS HIGHLY VISIBLE MINISTERS, YOUR WELCOMING PRESENCE AS YOU SERVE OUR FAITH COMMUNITY AT LITURGY WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT. LET US PRAY AS MINISTERS THAT WE MAY WELCOME THE LIVING CHRIST INTO OUR LIVES, SO THAT HIS PRESENCE WILL SHINE FORTH WHEN WE WELCOME PEOPLE AT THE DOOR, PROCLAIM GOD’S WORD, PREPARE AND CELEBRATE THE EUCHARISTIC LITURGY, AND SHARE THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST. WE KNOW WE CAN COUNT ON ALL OF YOU, WHO ALWAYS COMPLETE YOUR MINISTRY AND SERVICE WITH COMPETENCE AND A SPIRIT OF HOSPITALITY!
(The following is taken from St. Raphael’s Parish Vision Booklet)
Our Goal is to be a Welcoming Community
To create a culture in our parish where each newcomer is met with a warm welcome and each parishioner actively embodies a spirit of hospitality:
-
Warmly welcoming one another at all times
-
Drawing all into the spirit of celebration
-
Making facilities easily accessible
-
Accommodating ministries to people’s schedules.
-
Inviting and integrating new parishioners into parish life.
-
Being a neighbor to all we meet
